Car electric the best world in 2011

After going through many stages, LEAF Nissan electric car environmentally friendly, finally won the best car in the world predicate. Announcement Nissan LEAF as the best car in the world or 2011 World Car of the Year (WCTOY) itself was held in New York coincided with a show in New York Auto Show.


Nissan Leaf wealth and success beating Audi A8 and BMW Series 5 is also entered as a finalist and Audi A1, the BMW X3, Jaguar XJ, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Mercedes-Benz SLS, Porsche Cayenne and Volvo S60/V60 is a top 10 best cars. "This is the greatest happiness of the mass produced electric car first in the world, Nissan Leaf to win the prestigious 2011 World Car of the Year," said Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn as reported by WCTOY official website on Thursday (21/04/2011).

Before Nissan LEAF win this annual award in 2011 there were the other winners namely Volkswagen Polo (2010), Volkswagen Golf (2009), Mazda2/Mazda Demio (2008), Lexus LS460 (2007), BMW Series 3 (2006), and Audi A6 (2005).

In addition to choosing 2011 World Car of the Year, the jury also chose the winners of other categories ranging from World Performance Car, World Car Design of the Year and World Green Car.

In the category of World Performance Car Ferrari 458 attend the Italian who became the winner by beating SLS AMG Mercedes-Benz and Porsche 911 Turbo.

While the category of World Car Design of the Year, Aston Martin RAPIDE won this award after removing 51 other contestants. Aston Martin RAPIDE new generation car becomes the best design.
And for World Green Car category, the Chevrolet Volt be the greenest car.
